The Greek Airports Project (GAP) Team is proud to present a historic airport
which continues to serve a vital role in Greece today. This scenery which
depicts Dekeleia (LGTT) has all major military and civilian installations. This
scenery includes: Major airport installations such as the Hellenic Air Force
Museum which was founded in 1992. The museum is housed in the Leros hangar
which was originally stationed on the island of the same name, and used by the
Royal Italian Air Force during the years between WWI and WWII and was later
transported to Dekeleia in the post-war era. The Air Force academy (originally
named in 1931), now known as the Icarus Academy. The new control tower which
became operational in 2006. Civilian aeroclubs: Athens, Dekeleia, Mesogeion
Greek Airports Project presents the airport of Megara, a general aviation and
air force base in Athens, for aircraft and helicopters. The civilian part of the
airport was inaugurated on May 2005. The Hellenic Army General Staff ceded a
territory of 100 hectares to facilitate a general aviation airport. There are
plans to construct a new control tower and second runway. The scenery of Megara
airport (LGMG) depicts the general aviation part of the airport with high
detail, while basic parts of the military section are included, with less detail
of course, for obvious reasons. The NDB has been corrected and the sports car
racetrack, almost next to the airport, has been included. Vehicles, ground
personnel and Gmax items constitute this scenery, which can be used by all
general aviation enthusiasts.
Greek Airports Project presents one of the most interesting airports found in
Greece; King Pyrros / Ioannina Airport (LGIO). The airport is situated 5
kilometers north-west of the city of Ioannina. Fly amongst the mountainous Greek
northern region and try one of the most difficult approaches found in Greece.
This scenery is designed solely using GMAX components, while roads and autogen
scenery has been utilized bringing the most realistic representation possible
for the airport and the surrounding area
